Spanish Video 1

Reflection:
This video was overall, pretty nerve-wrecking. I was not prepared to jump into script writing and conversations in the first week of school. Having practiced Spanish last 2 years ago in freshman year, I have forgotten many of the words and phrases I had learned. Perhaps, I would have been more prepared had I not been absent on the first day of class. I heard from my peers that the class time that day was spent reviewing content from Spanish 1, and I think that would have been beneficial to me in writing dialogue. Despite this minor impairment, writing and conversing with my partner went pretty smoothly. A lot of what I already knew came rushing back to me and, especially with my partner's help, I felt ready to film our conversation by the time our turn came. However, I never took into account how poor I am in front of a camera and under pressure. Sitting down to film, I started to get really nervous and stiff. The camera started rolling, and I forgot the whole format of my lines and even the lines themselves for that matter. My partner helped me out at a couple of moments through our recording, but I am not proud with our product and I (for my partner's sake) feel bad for messing up. In the end, we still met the requirement of a 1 minute long video and I put enough work into the assignment to get a good grade. I'm just left with a bit of worry for our upcoming video assignments because of how poor I'm realizing I perform in front of a camera. |
